commentary

The block is mentioned in passing in the 1996 publication, and a black-and-white photograph shows it in situ, with a number of clearly monumental letters visible, of classical form. It does not seem to have been fully published. Two other inscriptions (archaic funerary texts) were also found in re-use in the fourth-century fortifications on the eastern side of the site.
